Basketball Game Preview: Santa Fe Prep Blue Griffins vs. St. Michael's Horsemen

The Santa Fe Prep Blue Griffins will head out to square off against the St. Michael's Horsemen at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 73-40, which was the final score in Santa Fe Prep's tilt against West Las Vegas on Tuesday. The Blue Griffins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, St. Michael's faced Robertson in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. St. Michael's was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 56-55 to Robertson. That makes it the first time this season the Horsemen have let down their home crowd.

St. Michael's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 20-5. As for Santa Fe Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-13.

Santa Fe Prep was dealt a bruising 70-39 loss at the hands of St. Michael's when the teams last played on February 4th. Can Santa Fe Prep avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
