Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Western Hills). They never let the Aiken Falcons get on the board and left with a 30-0 victory on Monday. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by ten runs or more this season.

John Farris made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Western Hills is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 3-5 otherwise. Farris was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, four runs, and five RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played.

In other batting news, Peyton Schnitzler was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs. Western Hills is undefeated when Schnitzler posts two or more stolen bases, but 1-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Reggie Payne, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI.

Western Hills hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Western Hills now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Aiken, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Western Hills will take on Purcell Marian at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mustangs are facing the Cavaliers at the right time seeing as the Cavaliers are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Aiken, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Northwest at 6:30 p.m. on May 17.
