Football Recap: Lorena Leopards vs. Regents Knights
Lorena couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a blow against the Regents Knights on Friday, falling 51-15. The Leopards were already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
Although Lorena took the loss, they still got scores from Jaxon Blancett and Brody Deleon.
A big part of the win came down to the chemistry between Jack Devine and his top target Blake Smith. Devine threw for 410 yards and seven touchdowns while picking up 14.1 yards per attempt while Smith gained 224 total yards and four touchdowns. The dominant performance gave him a new career- in total yards. Roman Patson was Devine's top target, picking up 63 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Lorena will face off against Malakoff at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Lorena focused on turnovers this week as team gave up four on Friday. As for Regents, they will venture away from home to face off against Kinkaid at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
