Football Recap: Round Rock Falls to Shoemaker in First Game of Season

Round Rock had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were beaten by the Shoemaker Wolves 56-28. The Dragons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Shoemaker's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brandon Brown Jr, who rushed for 52 yards and three TDs on only seven carries. Another back making a difference was Willie Thomas, who rushed for 89 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Round Rock wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 35-28 loss against Temple on the 5th. As for Shoemaker, they have also already played their next game, a 43-14 win against Varsity Opponent on the 5th.
