Football Recap: Round Rock Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Round Rock kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They had to suffer through a 56-28 loss at the hands of the Shoemaker Wolves. The Dragons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Shoemaker to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brandon Brown Jr, who rushed for 52 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries. Another rusher making a difference was Willie Thomas, who rushed for 89 yards and a pair of TDs.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Round Rock will challenge Temple at 7:30 p.m. on the 5th. As for Shoemaker, they will face off against Varsity Opponent at 7:30 p.m. on the 5th.
