Basketball Recap: Moorhead Comes Up Short

Moorhead entered their game against Alexandria on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Moorhead Spuds were beaten by the Alexandria Cardinals 100-72. The Spuds were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 56-36.

Alexandria's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mason Witt, who went 9 of 12 en route to 25 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Talan Witt, who went 7 for 8 on his way to 19 points.

Moorhead's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-4. As for Alexandria, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Moorhead has already played their next match (against Fergus Falls), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Alexandria didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 112-55 win against St. Cloud Tech on the 23rd.
