Tascosa is 9-1 against Plainview since November of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Tascosa Rebels will head out on the road to challenge the Plainview Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Plainview took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Tascosa, who comes in off a win.

Tascosa is headed into the contest having just posted their closest victory since December 20, 2024 on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Coronado, sneaking past 53-50. Given the Rebels' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while the Mustangs are ranked 559th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Plainview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 55-50 heartbreaker at the hands of Lubbock. That's two games in a row now that the Bulldogs have lost by exactly five points.

The win made it two in a row for Tascosa and bumps their season record up to 19-10. As for Plainview, they now have a losing record at 13-14.

Tascosa was able to grind out a solid victory over Plainview when the teams last played back in January, winning 65-57. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tascosa since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
