Baseball Game Preview: Heritage Academy Patriots vs. Rossville Christian Academy Wolves

The Heritage Academy Patriots will take on the Rossville Christian Academy Wolves at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Heritage Academy came into this matchup off a tough ten-run defeat on Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Magnolia Heights by a score of 4-2 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Patriots have suffered since March 8th.

Oliver Woodard was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

On the hitting side, Heritage Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Long, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Long also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

Meanwhile, Rossville Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch last Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Magnolia Heights.

Rossville Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Heritage Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-11-1 record this season.

Heritage Academy took their victory against Rossville Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 14-0. Will Heritage Academy repeat their success, or does Rossville Christian Academy has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
