Basketball Recap: Nixon Skates Past Economedes with Ease

Nixon won the last time they faced Economedes and things went their way on Thursday too. The Mustangs took their game with ease, bagging a 95-48 victory over the Jaguars.

AJ Palacios had a dynamite game, shooting 50% from the field en route to 22 points. Those 22 points gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Delapass, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 13 points and three steals.

Nixon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in ten consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Nixon's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Economedes, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Coincidentally, Nixon and Economedes will both be playing Veterans Memorial the next time they take the court. The Mustangs will head out to face the Chargers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Jaguars will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
