Baseball Game Preview: Troy Warriors vs. Sunny Hills Lancers

For the second straight game, Troy will face off against Sunny Hills. The Warriors will be playing at home against the Lancers at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Troy has six straight wins, Sunny Hills has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Troy will bounce into Friday's game after beating Sunny Hills, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Warriors put the hurt on the Lancers with a sharp 9-2 victory on Wednesday. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.

For Sunny Hills' part, they got a good showing from Zayyir Miramontes, who pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Miramontes has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

Troy pushed their record up to 16-5 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Sunny Hills, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-18.
