Basketball Game Preview: Palm Beach Central Broncos vs. Palm Beach Gardens Gators

Palm Beach Central hasn't had much luck against Palm Beach Gardens recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. Having just played yesterday, the Palm Beach Central Broncos will get right back to it and host the Palm Beach Gardens Gators at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

On Wednesday, Palm Beach Central came up short against Dwyer and fell 68-61.

Meanwhile, Palm Beach Gardens hadn't done well against Boca Raton recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Palm Beach Gardens put the hurt on Boca Raton with a sharp 62-38 win. The Gators have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 24 points or more this season.

Palm Beach Gardens' win came from a few key players Palm Beach Central will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Azariah Marrero, who went 7 for 8 on her way to 16 points along with five boards and four steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nahomie Jeune Louis, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds.

Palm Beach Gardens smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in four consecutive matches.

Palm Beach Central's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Palm Beach Gardens, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Palm Beach Central was dealt a bruising 73-36 defeat at the hands of Palm Beach Gardens in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Palm Beach Central was down 35-13.
