Johnson Creek extended their winning streak to four on Friday, bumping their season record up to 16-6 in the process. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over the Palmyra-Eagle Panthers. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 12-0 victory back in April.

As for Palmyra-Eagle, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-7. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

For Palmyra-Eagle's part, Devin Patrick spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits. Patrick has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

Looking ahead, Johnson Creek will square off against Luther Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Palmyra-Eagle does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
