Softball Game Preview: Hug Hawks vs. Wooster Colts

Hug is on a 14-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Wooster a seven-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Saturday. The Hug Hawks will welcome the Wooster Colts at 10:00 a.m. Hug has given up an average of 15.6 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Hug is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They fell just short of South Tahoe by a score of 15-13 on Wednesday. Even if the Hawks couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Hug got a massive performance out of Aubrie Sacauskas, who scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave Sacauskas a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Madelene Sosa, who scored two runs and stole Four bases. while going 4-for-5.

Even though they lost, Hug was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .694. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Wooster fell victim to Portola and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 19-0 to the Tigers.

Wooster's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Hug, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.
