Soccer Recap: Newsome Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Newsome walked away with it. They were the clear victors by a 4-1 margin over the Alonso Ravens on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for Newsome, who have now won 14 contests by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Alonso with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Gianna Savino (2), Gabrielle White, and Abigail Murray.

The win (which was Newsome's third in a row) raised their record to 21-2-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 15 goals over those three matchups. As for Alonso, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-5-3.

Coming up, Newsome will take on Cypress Bay at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Cypress Bay's defense has only allowed 0.3 goals per game this season, so Newsome's offense will have their work cut out for them. Alonso does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
