Volleyball Recap: Ocean Springs' Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Ocean Springs had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Northwest Rankin Cougars. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Greyhounds also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Ocean Springs' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Baylor Edmiston led the charge by getting 12 assists and four aces. That's the most aces Edmiston has posted since back in August of 2024. Lucy Pepper was another key player, getting ten assists and two aces.

They weren't the only good server: Ocean Springs was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in five consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Ocean Springs' victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Northwest Rankin, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Ocean Springs didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 loss against Brandon on the 2nd. As for Northwest Rankin, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Germantown on the 2nd.
