Soccer Game Preview: Augusta Christian vs. Hammond

Augusta Christian hasn't had much luck against Hammond recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Lions will head out on the road to take on the Skyhawks at 5:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Augusta Christian played against Heathwood Hall Episcopal last Tuesday and lost via forfeit.

Hammond is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Cardinal Newman on Tuesday. The Skyhawks fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 1-0.

Hammond now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Augusta Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Augusta Christian suffered a grim 5-0 defeat to Hammond when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
