Basketball Recap: Make It Two in a Row for Plumas Charter

If Burney wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Plumas Charter, they should've done a better job of containing Dalton Bentz. The Plumas Charter Warriors blew past the Burney Raiders 69-41 on Thursday thanks in part to Bentz, who shot 7-for-11 from long range and dropped a double-double on 36 points and 14 boards. The match was his sixth in a row with at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Owen Joseph, who posted eight points in addition to eight assists and seven steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in steals.

When it comes to explaining why Burney lost, don't look at James Fields. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Cort Covert, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 11 points.

The win made it two in a row for Plumas Charter and bumps their season record up to 9-2. As for Burney, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-7.

Plumas Charter wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 73-30 victory against Surprise Valley on the 20th. As for Burney, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-44 loss against Chester on the 20th.
