Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lake Creek). They blew past the Splendora Wildcats 54-19 on Thursday. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 183rd, while the Wildcats are ranked 733rd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Splendora's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tj Burch, who picked up 210 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Brayden Hinton was another key player, having thrown for 274 yards and two touchdowns.

Lake Creek is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.3 points over those games. As for Splendora, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-7.
