Douglass Academy put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hunter College Hawks, sneaking past 53-50. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while the Hawks are ranked 437th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Douglass Academy pushed their record up to 9-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.7 points per game. As for Hunter College, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-12.

Douglass Academy will face off against Environmental at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hunter College, they will be playing at home against Laguardia at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Hunter College is facing Laguardia at the right time seeing as Laguardia is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
