Volleyball Recap: Udall Takes a Loss

Udall was the 2-1 winner over Cunningham when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 2-1 on Saturday.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Udall sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 23-25, 25-20.

Liberty Mason paced Udall's offense, picking up nine kills. Mason got some help from Brilee Pellegrini and her 19 assists. Mason also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Abriann Saavedra, each putting up three.

Cunningham found their leader in sophomore MORGAN OLDHAM, who had ten digs and four aces. Those four aces set a new season-high mark for OLDHAM. JANESSA SCHNITTKER also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Udall's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Cunningham, their victory ended a four-match drought on the road and puts them at 11-6.

Udall wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Argonia on the 30th. As for Cunningham, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Caney Valley on the 27th.
