Softball Game Preview: Attica Red Ramblers vs. Covington Trojans

Attica is 2-8 against Covington since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Red Ramblers will head out to challenge the Trojans at 5:00 p.m. Attica will be strutting in after a victory while Covington will be coming in after a defeat.

Attica will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Thursday, then bounced right back against Frontier on Monday. The Red Ramblers put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 24-12 win. The Red Ramblers have beaten the Falcons the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Falcons has come to flipping the script.

The team relied heavily on Naveen Hill, who scored five runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5. Another player making a difference was Aleah Cruz, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Covington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 15-3 to Tri-County. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Trojans have suffered since May 11, 2024.

Covington saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aliyah Dean, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI.

The victory got Attica back to even at 1-1. As for Covington, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Everything went Attica's way against Covington in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Attica made off with a 15-6 win. Do the Red Ramblers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
