Baseball Game Preview: Madison Patriots vs. Owen Warhorses

For the second straight game, Madison will face off against Owen. The Patriots will be playing at home against the Warhorses at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

On Tuesday, Madison earned a 9-4 victory over Owen. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Patriots.

Caden Lounsbury made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Madison is 4-2 when he allows at most two walks, but 6-10 otherwise. Lounsbury was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Lounsbury wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Max Shelton, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Shelton is becoming a predictor of Madison's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 7-1 (and 3-11 when he doesn't). Jaxon Dillingham was another, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Owen's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Madison, their win bumped their record up to 10-12.
