Basketball Game Preview: Venice Gondoliers vs. Westchester Comets

Venice is 2-8 against Westchester since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Venice Gondoliers are taking a road trip to take on the Westchester Comets at 4:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Monday, Venice was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 65-60 to Fairfax. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (55), the Gondoliers still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Westchester waltzed into their matchup on Friday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They put the hurt on the Dolphins with a sharp 59-34 win. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Comets had established a 21 point advantage.

Westchester pushed their record up to 16-9 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 38.7 points. As for Venice, they now have a losing record at 12-13.

Venice came up short against Westchester in their previous meeting last Friday, falling 66-55. Can Venice avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
