Softball Recap: St. Maries Takes a Loss

St. Maries was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 16-4 to the Orofino Maniacs. The Lumberjacks were not able to make up for their loss to the Maniacs from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Addyson Stewart led a balanced group of hitters, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. Addilynn Turner also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

St. Maries' defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 6-5. As for Orofino, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Maniacs beat St. Maries by a score of 8-6 later that day.
