Football Recap: Charlie Barton's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Westview over Beaverton

Westview blew Beaverton out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Beaverton got their revenge. The Wildcats fell just short of the Beavers by a score of 34-31. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Wildcats have suffered against the Beavers since October 21, 2016.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Charlie Barton, who threw for 145 yards and one touchdown, and also punched in one rushing score. 98 of Barton's passing yards were hauled in by Tahkai Smith, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Westview has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season. As for Beaverton, their record now sits at 5-2.
