Volleyball Recap: North Side Victorious

While North Side didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-22), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Young Women's Leadership Academy Lady Owls on Saturday. The Steers haven't had any issues with the Lady Owls recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Aracely Espino paced North Side's offense, picking up six kills. Espino got some help from Hiliana Montes and her eight assists. Montes was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

North Side's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Young Women's Leadership Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.

North Side has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Nimitz on the 19th. As for Young Women's Leadership Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Polytechnic on the 16th.
