New Bern hasn't had much luck against South Central recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The New Bern Bears will be playing at home against the South Central Falcons at 6:30 p.m.

New Bern is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 68-21 loss at the hands of Jacksonville. The game marked the Bears' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, South Central waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past the Rams, posting a 68-27 win. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while the Rams are ranked 370th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

South Central pushed their record up to 13-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points per game. As for New Bern, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-15.

New Bern was dealt a bruising 84-23 loss at the hands of South Central when the teams last played on January 3rd. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of South Central's Brook Evans, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 12 rebounds.
