Baseball Game Preview: Immaculata Spartans vs. Hunterdon Central Red Devils

For the second straight game, Immaculata will face off against Hunterdon Central. The Spartans will head out on the road to take on the Red Devils at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Immaculata's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Hunterdon Central's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Tuesday, Immaculata earned a 4-1 victory over Hunterdon Central.

For Hunterdon Central's part, Cole Jacobus was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Jacobus is becoming a predictor of the Red Devils' success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 2-1 (and 6-8 when he doesn't).

At the plate, Hunterdon Central saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trevor Wallace, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Hunterdon Central now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Immaculata, their win bumped their record up to 14-3-1.
