Baseball Preview: Whitley County Colonels vs. Pulaski County Maroons

Whitley County is 8-1 against Pulaski County since March of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Whitley County Colonels will head out on the road to square off against the Pulaski County Maroons at 6:00 p.m. Whitley County is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.

Whitley County can now show off 13 landslide victories after their most recent match on Monday. They put the hurt on Rockcastle County with a sharp 16-0 victory.

Bryce Anderson was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and a triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Wilson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with a home run and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Pulaski County earned a 6-2 win over Garrard County on Monday. That's two games straight that Pulaski County has won by exactly four runs.

Skylar Stringer looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, Keegan Measel was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. Chase Farmer was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Whitley County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 23-9 record this season. As for Pulaski County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-9.

Whitley County took their win against Pulaski County in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 13-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for Whitley County since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
