Preview: Cedaredge Bruins vs. Limon Badgers
The Cedaredge Bruins will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against the Limon Badgers at 1:00 p.m. on November 4th. Cedaredge will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 135th, while Limon is ranked 19th).
Last Friday, Cedaredge ended up a good deal behind Buena Vista and lost 39-20.
The losing side was boosted by Luke Maxey, who rushed for 60 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, and also threw for 210 yards and a touchdown while picking up 10.5 yards per attempt. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Tullis, who gained 100 total yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Limon put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They really took it to Y for the full four quarters, racking up a 48-6 victory on the road. Considering Limon has won eight matches by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Jordan Rockwell looked great while leading his team to the win, rushing for 80 yards and a touchdown on only five carries, while also throwing for 99 yards and two touchdowns on only six passes. Lohgan Bottjer made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Cedaredge's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 3-4. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 14.8 points per game. As for Limon, their win bumped their record up to 9-0.
Saturday's contest might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Cedaredge has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 170.3 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Limon struggles in that department as they've been even better at 288.7 per game. It's looking like Saturday's game might have some serious battles in the trenches.
