Softball Recap: Jacobs Eagles vs. McHenry Warriors
Jacobs had lost three straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 14-20 to make it four. They fell 3-0 to the McHenry Warriors. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Eagles haven't been shut out since back in April.

Skylee Ferrante spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Jacobs saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emily Popilek, who went 1-for-3 with one double.
As for McHenry, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-13 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games.

Jacobs does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for McHenry, they will face off against Barrington at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Broncos/Fillies' pitching crew has only allowed 1.5 runs per game this season, so the Warriors' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
