Basketball Recap: Morgan Takes a Loss

Morgan played a tough matchup on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 61-32 loss at the hands of the Tri-Valley Scotties. The Raiders haven't had much luck with the Scotties recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Despite the defeat, Morgan had strong showings from Gianna Myers, who posted 12 points, and Myleigh Williams, who had 11 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Myers has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played.

Morgan's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-4. As for Tri-Valley, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

When Morgan and Tri-Valley next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Morgan will try to stop Ridgewood's three-game winning streak when the meet at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Similarly, Tri-Valley will square off against Bloom-Carroll and their three-game winning streak at 1:15 p.m. on December 28th.
