Basketball Recap: Oasis Academy Comes Up Short

Oasis Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were dealt a 60-20 loss at the hands of the Pershing County Mustangs. The match marked the Bighorns' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Oasis Academy lost, don't look at Fenn Mackedon. Despite the final result, he posted eight points and five rebounds. What's more, Mackedon also racked up two blocks, the most he's had since back in January.

Oasis Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Pershing County, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.

After both having extra time off, Oasis Academy and enCompass Academy will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 4:30 p.m. on January 8, 2025. As for Pershing County, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 63-44 victory against Sierra Lutheran on the 20th.
