Ripon Christian (Ripon, Calif.) grabbed a lead in the first quarter and rode that momentum to a 42-22 win over
Elliot Christian (Lodi, Calif.).
The Knights put up 14 points in the opening frame. Ripon Christian scored on a
Danny Vos touchdown pass to
Brandon Dotinga and a touchdown pass by Vos to
Clayton Blankers.
RC was up 21-7 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown pass by Vos to Dotinga in the first quarter.
Both teams scored seven points in the third quarter, so the margin remained at 14 entering the fourth.
Vos stood out for the Ripon school in the win. The senior quarterback threw three touchdowns and kicked three extra points. He has now scored four touchdowns on the season.
Ben Huckaby played well for the Eagles. The senior running back ran for three touchdowns. His performance brought his touchdown total to 27 on the year.
Elliot Christian came in surrendering 15.5 points per game this season. EC struggled against the Knights, which came in averaging 34.8 points per game.
The loss comes after Elliot Christian defeated Sierra Ridge/Rite of Passage 27-14 last week. With the win Ripon Christian extended its winning streak to three games.
