Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Melbourne Central Catholic walked away with it. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Windermere Prep Lakers on Wednesday. The win was familiar territory for the Hustlers, who have now won 15 games in a row.

Madelynn Prayto was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in 15 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Peyton West, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.

Melbourne Central Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Windermere Prep only posted an OBP of .167.

Melbourne Central Catholic's victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Windermere Prep, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-6.
