Volleyball Game Preview: Mapleton Mounties vs. Waynedale Golden Bears

The Mapleton Mounties will face off against the Waynedale Golden Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Mapleton can't be too worried about heading out to take on Waynedale: they just beat Mineral Ridge at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. The Mounties came out on top against the Rams by a score of 3-1 on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Waynedale made easy work of Oberlin on Thursday and carried off a 3-0 win.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-16, 25-11.

Mapleton better keep an eye on Kylie Geiser. She was instrumental in Waynedale's win, getting 11 digs and two aces. Geiser has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last four times she's played.

Waynedale was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in four consecutive matchups.

Mapleton's record is now 6-17. As for Waynedale, their record now sits at 15-8.
