Basketball Recap: Dixon Falls Short of Marysville in the Playoffs

Dixon and Marysville squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Dixon had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Marysville Indians by a score of 63-60. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Rams have suffered since December 28, 2024.

Jordan Brooks continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Marysville, dropping a double-double with 17 points and 13 boards. What's more, Brooks also posted an 89% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in November of 2024. Javeyon Brown was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and ten rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Dixon and nudges their season record down to 16-12. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points over those games. As for Marysville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-7 record this season.

Dixon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Marysville, they will square off against Venture Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Venture Academy comes in on nine and Marysville on four.
