Volleyball Recap: Liberty Christian Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road + How To Watch

Liberty Christian proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by three) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Lord Botetourt Cavaliers 3-2. This was payback for the Bulldogs, who suffered a 3-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Liberty Christian who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 21-25, 25-19, 21-25, 15-8.

Liberty Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Elyse Ballengee, who had 13 digs and seven aces. Ballengee is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in each of the last three games she's played. Laney Swan was another key player, getting 15 digs and six assists.

They weren't the only good server: Liberty Christian was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Liberty Christian's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-5. As for Lord Botetourt, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-3.

Liberty Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Amherst County on the 11th. As for Lord Botetourt, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Franklin County at 7:00 p.m. on the 23rd.
