Basketball Game Preview: Florida School for the Deaf & Blind Dragons vs. Old Plank Christian Academy Defenders

Having just played yesterday, the Florida School for the Deaf & Blind Dragons will get right back to it and host the Old Plank Christian Academy Defenders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Florida School for the Deaf & Blind will be strutting in after a victory while Old Plank Christian Academy will be coming in after a defeat.

Florida School for the Deaf & Blind took a 43-point loss the last time they faced off against First Baptist Christian Academy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Dragons slipped by the Crusaders 48-47 on Thursday. The win was some much needed relief for the Dragons as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Jonah Abenchuchan and Logan Bridges were among the main playmakers for Florida School for the Deaf & Blind as the former posted ten points and three steals and the latter put up six points. That's the most steals Abenchuchan has posted since back in January.

Meanwhile, Old Plank Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch last Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Covenant School of Jacksonville, falling 65-40. On the bright side, the 40- point effort marked the Defenders' highest-scoring game to date.

Old Plank Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Florida School for the Deaf & Blind, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Florida School for the Deaf & Blind couldn't quite get it done against Old Plank Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 as they fell 47-37. Can the Dragons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
