Basketball Game Preview: Riverside Chargers vs. Arcadia/Loup City Rebels

Riverside is 1-6 against Arcadia/Loup City since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Riverside Chargers will challenge the Arcadia/Loup City Rebels at 6:00 p.m. Neither of these teams found much success offensively their last time out, scoring well below their season average.

Riverside is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Burwell on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Riverside had to suffer through a 53-20 loss at the hands of Burwell. The Chargers were down 43-17 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Meanwhile, Arcadia/Loup City was beaten by Shelton 52-21 on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Rebels in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now lost four in a row.

Eva Jaixen was Arcadia/Loup City's leading scorer, having posted six points. Tayler Obermiller held things down on the boards with five rebounds. She took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Arcadia/Loup City's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Riverside, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.

Riverside couldn't quite finish off Arcadia/Loup City when the teams last played back in January of 2024 and fell 49-47. Thankfully for Riverside, Eva Jaixen (who went 7 for 16 on her way to 15 points along with seven boards and six steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
