Basketball Recap: Seven Straight Home Wins for Montevideo

Montevideo waltzed into their game on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 65-59 W against the Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta Tigers. This was a revenge game for the Thunderhawks: when they faced off against the Tigers back in January, they had to take a 56-45 loss.

Montevideo's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-3. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.4 points over those games. As for Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta, with the defeat, they broke their 12-game winning streak and moved their record to 22-7.

Coming up, Montevideo will be playing in front of their home fans against Jackson County Central at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Jackson County Central knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 14 contests -- so hopefully Montevideo likes a good challenge. Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
