Baseball Recap: Steele Canyon Now 9-3 over Last 12 Games

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Steele Canyon ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top against the Santana Sultans by a score of 7-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 4-2 on Thursday.

Hunter Haase tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Steele Canyon is 5-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 7-12 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jonah Arens, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Tommy Rimoldi was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs.

Steele Canyon hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Steele Canyon is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-13 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games. As for Santana, they now have a losing record of 12-13.
