Baseball Game Preview: St. Helena Saints vs. Fort Bragg Timberwolves

The St. Helena Saints will take on the Fort Bragg Timberwolves at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

While St. Helena's win against Lower Lake wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Saints skirted past the Trojans 4-3.

St. Helena's victory was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Dean Sommer, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Fort Bragg entered their tilt with Cloverdale on Friday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured an 8-7 W against the Eagles.

St. Helena is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Fort Bragg, their victory bumped their record up to 10-1.

St. Helena skirted past Fort Bragg 5-3 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will the Saints repeat their success, or do the Timberwolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
