Preview: Colquitt County Packers vs. Milton Eagles
Colquitt County has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Milton Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Colquitt County has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 535 points over their last 12 matchups.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Colquitt County had no problem doing just that on Friday. They strolled past the Lions with points to spare, taking the game 38-19.
Colquitt County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ramsey Dennis, who rushed for 105 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries. Colquitt County also got help from Zay Williams who showed off his sure hands for 113 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Milton entered their tilt with Collins Hill with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Milton was the clear victor by a 42-21 margin over Collins Hill. The result was nothing new for Milton, who have now won nine contests by 20 points or more so far this season.
Milton's success was spearheaded by the efforts of CJ Wiley, who picked up 174 receiving yards and three touchdowns, and Luke Nickel, who threw for 298 yards and four touchdowns while completing 74.1% of his passes.
Colquitt County has yet to lose a game at home this season, leaving them with a 12-0 record. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 23.22 points. As for Milton, their win bumped their record up to 10-2.
Colquitt County and Milton were almost perfectly matched up in their previous matchup back in December of 2018, but Colquitt County suffered an agonizing 14-13 defeat. Can Colquitt County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
