Softball Recap: Monday's Victory Is Chicopee Comp's Third in Last Four Outings

The Chicopee Comp Colts were able to grind out a solid victory over the Commerce Red Raiders on Monday, taking the game 9-4.

Marissa Vasquez was excellent, going 1-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April. Alexis Wojcik was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Chicopee Comp is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-14 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Commerce, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Coincidentally, Chicopee Comp and Commerce will both be playing Palmer the next time they take the field. The Red Raiders will host the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Colts will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
