Softball Recap: Coleman Comes Up Short

The matchup between Coleman and Peshtigo on Tuesday hardly resembled the 4-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Cougars lost 16-6 to the Bulldogs. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Coleman saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Annabell Markiewicz, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Coleman's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Peshtigo, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-4.

Looking ahead, Coleman is taking a road trip to challenge Wausaukee at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Rangers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.5 runs per game on average), something the Cougars will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Peshtigo, they will face off against Sturgeon Bay at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
