Baseball Recap: Atlantic Find Success

Atlantic hadn't beaten Taylor on the road since April 13, 2021 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. The Atlantic Sharks came out on top against the Taylor Wildcats by a score of 5-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Sharks also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Atlantic got a great performance from Jackson Bowman as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. Bowman has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Atlantic let Jake Cronin and Ezra Goulding run wild. Cronin scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3, while Goulding scored a run while going 3-for-3. Cronin also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season. Jayden Lombardi was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Atlantic's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Taylor, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Atlantic will face off against Mainland at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Atlantic's pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so Mainland's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Taylor, they will square off against Warner Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Taylor is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.
