Softball Game Preview: Glenwood Gators vs. Valley Rams

The Glenwood Gators will face off against the Valley Rams at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Glenwood will be strutting in after a win while Valley will be coming in after a loss.

Glenwood proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by seven) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Beulah, sneaking past 8-7.

The team relied heavily on Kady Corbitt, who went 3-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Brooke Morrell was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Valley unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 16-6 to Smiths Station on Thursday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it 11 in a row.

Kailee Harris was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Addison Lee, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Everything went Glenwood's way against Valley when the teams last played back in February of 2025, as Glenwood made off with a 12-4 victory. Will the Gators repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
