Recap: Maranatha Minutemen vs. Crespi Celts

The Maranatha Minutemen and the Crespi Celts squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but sadly the Maranatha Minutemen had to settle for second. They took a 59-40 bruising from the Celts. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Maranatha has scored all season.

Maranatha's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dylan Khatchikian, who scored seven points along with three steals. Maddox Kiyohara was another key contributor, scoring nine points.

Leading Crespi to victory were Peyton White and Joe Sterling. White scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and two steals, while Sterling scored 20 points along with three steals. Sterling is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Drew Fisher, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.

Maranatha has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 17-10 record this season. As for Crespi, they pushed their record up to 24-7 with that win, which was their third straight at home.

Maranatha does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Crespi, they will square off against Great Oak at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Great Oak has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 484 points over their last seven matches.
