Softball Game Preview: St. Petersburg Green Devils vs. Countryside Cougars

The St. Petersburg Green Devils will face off against the Countryside Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Petersburg has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 4.

St. Petersburg lost 17-2 to East Lake on Wednesday.

St. Petersburg saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joselyn Castagner, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Victoria Wirth also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Meanwhile, Countryside came up short against Dunedin on Thursday, falling 13-3. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

St. Petersburg's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Countryside, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.

St. Petersburg took their victory against Countryside in their previous matchup back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 8-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Green Devils since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
